New family site FamilyAnywhere.com rated "easier than myfamily.com"

PRESS RELEASE:

Two local "family men", Duane Johnson and Dave Stevenson of Provo, UT, opened up FamilyAnywhere.com this week to help members of any family keep in touch no matter where they live.

Motivated by a desire to keep in touch with his own family in Canada, Johnson built a prototype of the site in January. "It was perfect for our situation--just a simple, easy way to share news and photos. Here I am at BYU, and my brothers and sisters are in Alberta, but we actually keep in touch better now because we use the internet so often," said Johnson.

Intrigued by the prototype, Stevenson asked his wife to take a look and compare it with other, similar products online. What she saw impressed her. "I visited all of the family websites that I could find. I was discouraged at how hard it was to sign up and post news. But then I found Family Anywhere! I was instantly impressed by how easy it was to create a family website, post news, and share photos--even easier than myfamily.com." Encouraged by her response, Stevenson then asked Johnson to further the development so that other families could benefit. The result is FamilyAnywhere.com, a simple, accessible site where anyone in the family can initiate a private "family website" and invite other members to participate.

"It's been done before, but we think FamilyAnywhere.com is going to lower the barrier to entry for families to communicate online. No other service is as simple and helpful when it comes to getting Grandma and Grandpa to talk with your 13-year-old 'myspace'-age daughter on a regular basis," said Johnson.

FamilyAnywhere.com offers a 14-day free evaluation for family members to try out, and charges less than $9 a month for continued service.
